Unit 1

Introducing Coaching and Mentoring

This unit shall introduce the students to the similarities and differences between coaching and mentoring and how to use coaching in performance management.

Unit 2

Performance Management

This unit aims to help learners gain an understanding of what performance management is, the benefits of performance management, sources of performance, and how to effectively measure performance.

Unit 3

A Successful Coach and Mentor

This unit shall provide students with an outline of the role of a coach within an organisation along with an explanation of the different types of coaches and the skills required to be a successful coach.

Unit 4

Methods for Coaching Individuals

This unit will focus on the GROW and OUTCOMES coaching models, how to develop these coaching skills, and the benefits of making use of these models.

Unit 5

Methods for Coaching Teams

This unit will delve into the characteristics of high performing teams, how to build high performing teams, and how to assess and coach teams.

Unit 6

Effective Mentoring and Coaching Barriers

This unit will provide students with the skills required to be able to match mentor with mentee, how to deal with lack of support from top management, unrealistic expectations, and unclear roles.

Unit 7

Managing Coaching and Mentoring Sessions

This unit shall equip students with the required knowledge to create SMART plans and how to make use of feedback. Moreover, the unit will delve into the management of mentoring sessions and the process of ending relationships.

About this course

The Award in Coaching and Mentoring (Business Administration) is specifically designed for aspiring and practising coaches or mentors who wish to understand the fundamentals of coaching and mentoring and the role that such people play within successful organisations.

Coaching and mentoring are crucial for the enhanced performance of individuals and teams within organisations. In this award, learners will learn the various models and tools that can be implemented to harness one’s coaching skills and effectively coach individuals and teams in the workplace.

This course tackles topics such as management performance, conflict resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills. Students that enrol in this course will further develop their management skills, improve overall productivity and efficiency, increase confidence, and lead more productive teams.

Delivery Mode

The Award in Coaching and Mentoring (Business Administration) is delivered through a combination of seminars and work-based learning.

 

Who is this course for?

This course is intended for those who are aged 21+ and aspire to work or are already working as coaches or mentors.

 

Language of Instruction

This programme will be delivered in English.

 

Location of Lectures

Lectures will be delivered at Business Leaders Hub, 160, Mdina Road, Zebbug, Malta, ZBG 9015.
