This module allows learners to become knowledgeable and skilled within the area of selection and recruitment is one of the primary functions of human resource management. Learners will be exposed to the process involved in selection and recruitment, as well as the overall employment cycle.

About this course

The Undergraduate Certificate in HR Management shall cover the basics of Human Resources and will allow learners to become familiar with concepts such as people management, communications management and the recruitment process. It will give students the skills they need to work with teams and is the first step for those aspiring to work in the Human Resource industry. Learners will learn how to:

  • Carry out effective communication in the workplace and assist management in fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Negotiate a package that benefits both the employee as well as the organisation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the HR department and the communication strategy of the organisation.
  • Ensure that the recruitment process is in line with regulations and with employee rights.

At the end of this programme, learners will be eligible to advance their studies by pursuing an Undergraduate Diploma in HR Management.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold:

  • A Diploma in a related field pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent OR;
  • A Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels & 3 Intermediate OR;
  • Mature Student OR;
  • A MATSEC certificate with Grade 5 or better in English, Maltese and Mathematics together with at least 5
    years experience working within a business setting.

Assessment Mode

This course shall be assessed through the use of an assignment based on the theoretical concepts presented during the lectures, and ways of implementing said concepts and theories. These assessments will include group assignments, group presentations, individual assignments and individual presentations.

Delivery Mode

This Undergraduate Certificate in HR Management is delivered through face-to-face classroom-based learning.

 

Who is this course for?

This course is intended for those who are aged 21+ and aspire to work or are already working in human resources.

 

Language of Instruction

This programme will be delivered in English.
