The Award in Strategic Human Resource Management offers a comprehensive exploration of key concepts in HR. By the end of this award, learners will have been exposed to:
  • Have in-depth knowledge of strategic human resource management and how it relates to the overall strategy of the organisation 
  • Forecast the HR needs of an organisation whilst working in conjunction with the entire HR department 
  • Carry out job analysis and job descriptions before the recruitment of a new employee 
  • Manage and motivate employees, making use of effective strategic human resource management 
  • Comply with the legislation governing recruitment and employment in organisations
  • Monitor and evaluate performance and implement effective reward systems  
  • Ensure an organisational understanding of the need for effective recruitment procedures 
  • Assess and discuss various approaches including resource-based approaches and contingent approaches
  • Critically analyse how the external environment influences one’s organisation

This qualification is awarded by Central Mediterranean Business School (CMBS).

Accrediting Body

This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems the Award in Strategic Human Resource Management to be at Level 6 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally hold a bachelor’s degree and have 2 years of related professional experience. Excellent command of written English is required.

To determine your eligibility, at CMBS, we assess many factors including your education, career progression, and leadership and entrepreneurship qualities. If you do not meet the standard entry requirements and are adequately prepared to succeed in this programme, we welcome and encourage you to contact us for an interview.

To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:

  • MQF Level 4 qualification in a relevant field
  • Matriculation certificate with passes in at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
  • Matsec certificate with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better in accounts, english, mathematics and any other subject
  • Relevant work experience in a relevant field

Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

Mode of Assessment

The Award in Strategic Human Resource Management will be assessed through a presentation, assignment and reflective journal.
