Learners will learn how to:
- Manage businesses according to their unique investing, financing and/or dividend policy profile
- Monitor the impact of the cost of capital on the value of a business
- Determine an organisation’s working capital management needs and short-term funding strategies
- Conduct appraisals for both short-term working capital needs and long-term investments
- Compute and evaluate the various inputs and outputs arising from investment appraisal techniques, allowing for inflation and tax as well as risk and uncertainty

This qualification is awarded by Central Mediterranean Business School (CMBS).
Accrediting Body
This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems the Award in Financial Management to be at Level 5 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:
- MQF Level 4 qualification in accountancy, finance or a relevant field
- Matriculation certificate with passes in at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
- Matsec certificate with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better in accounts, english, mathematics and any other subject
- Relevant work experience in a relevant field
Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.
Mode of Assessment
The Award in Financial Management will be assessed through an exam, an individual project and a reflective journal.Â
