This Award in Strategic Human Resource Management delves deeper into human resource management, enabling learners to explore the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for success within the field across various organisations.
Learners will learn how to:
- Critically reflect on and evaluate various terms, concepts, practices, and theories within the field of strategic human resource management.
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of how human resources have changed and evolved throughout the years.
- Identify the importance of effective problem-solving skills and decision-making techniques within the field of HRM.
- Assess and analyse the advantages and challenges that might arise with the implementation of employee motivation in the workplace.
- Examine and evaluate the use of job analysis and job descriptions in proper human resource planning and management.
- Analyse how the workplace has become more diverse and multicultural and identify ways of managing a diverse and multicultural workforce.
- Critically reflect on terms such as ‘recruitment,’ ‘selection,’ ‘training,’ and ‘development’ in the human resource context.
- Reflect on the role of performance and reward systems in strategic human resource management.

This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems this award to be at Level 5 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:
- Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field
- Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
- Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better
- Relevant work experience
Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

Mode of Assessment
This award shall be assessed through the use of a case study.
