This Award in Coaching and Mentoring enables learners to understand the role of a mentor or coach in the workplace and equips them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to effectively work towards becoming a coach or mentor.
Learners will learn how to:
- Critically assess and analyse the concept of ‘Coaching’ and discuss in detail the role of manager as a coach.
- Examine the links between change and of coaching.
- Reflect on the benefits that arise from effective goal setting.
- Demonstrate critical understanding of the role of coaching in relation to performance enhancement, motivation in employees and the development of a team.
- Critically assess and analyse the challenges and benefits which a coach might face when coaching and mentoring.
- Assess and critically reflect on leadership and how it can be used for higher performance Critically reflect on the qualities of a good leader as well as the challenges.

This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems this award to be at Level 5 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:
- Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field
- Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
- Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better
- Relevant work experience
Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

This award shall be assessed through the use of an assignment.
