Award in English Language Proficiency for ECEC Childcare Educators

Learners will learn how to:

• Collaborate with parents to ensure effective communication about their child’s needs, preferences, and well-being in childcare. 
• Comply with formal greetings when interacting with management and regulatory bodies. 
• Guide children using basic English phrases to support their understanding of daily routines and safety. 
• Carry out tasks involving age-appropriate interactions with children using simple Maltese songs, greetings, and vocabulary. 
• Be responsible for using culturally and linguistically appropriate language in professional and caregiving contexts. 
• Represent the childcare centre professionally when addressing management or regulatory authorities in English. 
• Ensure clarity and respect in all forms of communication, adapting language to suit the audience.
