The Award in Information Technology in Human Resource explores how information technology supports HR functions. Learners shall be able to understand how to create and implement an effective IT strategy related to HRM to effectively manage and automate HR processes, as well as other HR processes including payroll, performance management, and information management.
Learners will learn how to:
- Monitor trends in information technology which positively effect human resource management
- Ensure the effective selection of various information technology tools and software to carry out tasks related to HR and encourage automation of HR processes
- Create an effective HR strategy incorporating information technology effectively
- Carry out effective information, data and knowledge storing making use of information technology in human resources
- Make effective use of relevant software for processes of human such as payroll, leave and sick leave
- Prepare for the implementation of human resources management systems to encourage automated human resources systems at the workplace
- Practice effective data collection and storing of HR-related data making effective use of HR systems

This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems this award to be at Level 5 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:
- Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field
- Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
- Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better
- Relevant work experience
Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

Mode of Assessment
The Award in Information Technology in Human Resource shall be assessed through the use of an assignment.
